Together as a community, North Shore has raised over $600,000 in the last 6 years. It has been the #1 Relay for Life in Nassau County for the past two years and the goal for 2013 is $200,000! There are many fundraising efforts already taking place throughout the community including a Raffle Ticket Contest to win a 50” Toshiba LED TV, a Kayak, or a Kindle Fire.

For the first time, the North Shore Elementary Schools will be playing a role helping to raise funds through the American Cancer Society’s Relay Recess Program. Relay Recess brings cancer education and community service into the classroom, engaging elementary students in the fight against cancer. The students are excited to be playing an important role in reaching this year’s $200,000 goal!
If you are interested in getting involved in the Relay for Life, please join us on Wednesday, April 17th, 2013 at the North Shore High School in Glen Head at 7:00 PM. Please bring any friends, family, co-workers, or “Relay-ers” past, present and future! This is the time for anyone in the North Shore, Glen Cove and surrounding communities who have been affected by cancer to CELEBRATE the cancer survivors in our lives, REMEMBER those who lost their battle to cancer, and FIGHT BACK as a community against cancer.
